FEED stands for Farmer Enterprise & Economic Development and is a social enterprise focused on Sustainable Agri-Fintech Development Solutions and Value Added Consumer Product Development. We started FEED to right the fresh produce supply chain wrongs and develop a better future for the farmers and families of the Philippines’ agricultural community.
For too long, many supply chain intermediaries in the Philippines have driven the farm gate price of fresh produce down and the distribution time and shelf price up.
Despite their important role of feeding us, farmers and their communities have been economic losers in the trading of their agricultural products and are kept in economic poverty with 72% of rural populations being unbanked (no access to financial products or services), whilst the people in the cities who need it have been denied access to quality fresh produce at a fair price.
FEED is a program that ensures farmers are given financial stability, as well as increased economic opportunities. FEED enables them to achieve higher farm gate prices, receive quarterly dividends, as well as having access to the financial and trading systems via digital banking to save and borrow money.
FEED will help them future-proof their farms and improve the lives of their family and community creating a residual economic ‘ripple effect’ and a viable way of life for the generations that follow.
